She next received acclaim for the successful festival circuit film <Nabi-The Butterly> (2001). In 2004, she appeared in HONG Sangsoo’s work <Woman Is the Future of Man>, as well as the inspirational music drama <Springtime> with CHOI Min-shik. Following some smaller films she appeared in LEE Joon-ik's middle-aged band comedy-drama <The Happy Life> in 2007. A seven-year break followed for the esteemed actress, until she finally reappeared on the silver screen in <Revivre>, the 102nd film by legendary filmmaker IM Kwon-taek. In it, she appeared as the ailing wife of AHN Sung-ki’s character, who is dying of cancer. KIM was praised for her raw, unadorned performance and the film enjoyed a lengthy life on the film festival circuit following its debut in Venice.
