His debut came when he was only 16 in the teen drama <Me> and his first film, <Plum Blossom>, followed in 2000. But his career took off in earnest when he appeared in the hit comedy series <Rooftop Room Cat>, melodrama film <…ing> in 2003 and then the smash romcom <My Little Bride>, which became one of the most successful films of 2004. Having cultivated an image as a romantic lead, KIM appeared in some more love stories and then sought a character change, first as a cop in <Mr. Socrates> (2005) and then as a gangster in <Sunflower> (2006).
