KIM Hwi to Adapt Chinese Action Drama Hit
The Chinese crime action drama
Project Gutenberg is set to receive a Korean remake. As reported by Screen Daily during this year’s Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART), which takes place alongside the Hong Kong International Film Festival, Korean genre filmmaker
KIM Hwi will direct the update, which will have a budget in the range of USD 12 to 15 million.
The original Protect Gutenberg, a Chinese-Hong Kong co-production featuring HK superstars CHOW Yun-fat and Aaron KWOK from director Felix CHONG, was a major hit in China last year, where it grossed almost USD 190 million. The film chronicles the hunt for a counterfeiting mastermind known as Painter.
