KIM Hwi first major credit in the Korean film industry came as a producer on JK YOUN’s 2007 comedy sequel <Sex Is Zero 2>. Following that, he was involved as a writer or script editor on a number of major films, including YOUN’s blockbuster tsunami drama <Haeundae> (2009), the female prison drama <Harmony> (2010), the radio stalker thriller <Midnight FM> (2010), the oil high monster thriller <Sector 7> (2011), the high-concept crime comedy <Over Your Dead Body> (2012) and the drama comedy <Dancing Queen> (2012). Also in 2012, he finally ascended to the director’s chair with his debut <The Neighbors>, a thriller based on a webcomic by popular writers KANG Full. In it, residents in an apartment block begin to suspect that one of their neighbors is in fact a serial killer responsible for the death of a teenage girl. With a keen sense of style and strong ensemble cast, the film performed well on the charts towards the end of the summer. KIM’s next work was as a director of one of the segments in the anthology sequel <Horror Stories II> in 2013. Following that, he began work on <The Chosen: Forbidden Cavet>, a high concept thriller based on a novel by SHIN Jin-o.
