Korean romantic comedy <Petty Romance> (2010) has just been confirmed to screen at the Terracotta Far East Film Festival in London. The film which was released late last year in Korea and continued to sell well early into 2011 is making its UK premiere at the festival.
The film stars popular actor LEE Sun-kyun who plays Jeong-bae, a cartoonist who can draw but not get his stories right. Actor LEE made his mark in several Korean dramas and a host of movies including PARK Chan-ok’s <Paju> (2009) and <Oki’s Movie> (2010) by HONG Sang-soo. LEE plays against CHOI Kang-hee who last appeared in melodrama <Goodbye Mom> (2010) and plays creative but disorganized aspiring writer Da-rim.
Da-rim who is talented but ineffective with her ideas is fired from her job as a translator at an adult magazine. Jeong-bae who is unable to write the stories for his comics, interviews the freshly fired Da-rim and the two embark on a mission to win an adult comic contest.
