Born in 1996, Kim Hye-yoon has always dreamed of becoming an actor. Having taken acting lessons since 2012, she debuted in the TV series <Samsaengi> (2013) and made her first film appearance soon after, in a flashback in the sleeper hit thriller <Hide and Seek> (2013). Beside a recurring role as the main character’s daughter in cable tv series <Bad Guys> (2014), she has been mostly confined to bit roles for most of the decade, due in part to her commitment to her films studies at Konkuk University starting in 2015, as she purposely avoided roles that would take too much of her time. Her biggest role during that period was a supporting character in the Sul Kyunggu vehicle <MEMOIR OF A MURDERER> (2016). Just months before graduation, she passed an audition and landed a role as a high school girl prepping for an elite college in the sensational hit satire series <Sky Castle> (2018-2019). She made such a strong impression in this role that she won Best New Actress in TV at the Baeksang Arts Awards. This helped her receive top billing in the fantasy series <Extraordinary You> (2019). She appeared briefly in the <Bad Guys> film sequel-cum-spin-off <The Bad Guys: Reign of Chaos> (2019), before starring in the thriller <Midnight> (2020). In 2022, she earned a lot of praise for her performance in the title role in the indie drama <The Girl of on a Bulldozer> (2021), notably winning the Rising Star Award from the New York Asian Film Festival, and latter starred in the romance film <Ditto> (2022).
