For the past 20 years, Hye-Ryoung has made more than 40 documentaries for South Korea’s major broadcasters, KBS, MBC, and SBS. Her forte is in human- interest documentaries as she takes on an anthropological approach to the people she encounters within their social and cultural context. Her depth of storytelling is seen in the way that she continues to document over many years, the stories of people embedded in their traditional way of life in a modernizing world. Alongside documentaries, she is also an executive producer for food related entertainment programs, and finds interest in developing content for new program formats. A believer in the multi-use of one source, she combines her creativity with her business skills. She founded her production company Media Hayanso in 2009.
