Born in 1991, Kim Sung-cheol majored in drama at the Korea National University of Arts before debuting in musicals, starting with the 2014 production <Puberty>. After a first film role in the short <WINTER PICNIC> (2014), he received a couple of bit roles in films. While he has always kept himself busy with a large number of live musical productions, it was when he moved to television that he was brought to wide notice playing one of the inmates in the hit TV series <Prison Playbook> (2017-2018). He was then cast as the male lead in the romantic musical series <To. Jenny> (2018), and later he starred in the comedy film <Too Hot to Die> (2018), his first major role on the big screen. In 2019, he joined the main cast of the Korean War film <Battle of Jangsari> (2019), and he could also be seen in the much-anticipated feminist title <KIM JI-YOUNG, BORN 1982> (2019) and the fantasy drama series <Arthdal Chronicles> (2019). He gained wider popularity upon starring in the drama series <Do You Like Brahms?> (2020). After brief appearances in the hit series <Sweet Home> (2020) and <Vincenzo> (2021), he was cast in the period thriller film <The Night Owl> (2021), which released in late 2022.
