LEE Yu-bi, born in 1990, is the daughter of KYUN Mee-ree, a film and TV actress. When she was a child, she would often be asked if she would like to follow in her mother’s footsteps, a question that annoyed her so much that she resolved to never work in acting. However, having taken a liking for stage musicals, she started learning to sing around the end of elementary school. It was not until she was studying music at Ewha Womans University (sic) that she considered pursuing an acting career, and so, without telling her parents, she went to an audition held by MBN and was offered a role for sitcom <Vampire Idol> (2011). She gathered wider recognition from the public by appearing the following year in romantic TV series <The Innocent Man> (2012), aired by public network KBS, and started to receive offers for commercials. In 2014, she made her big screen debut with LEE Won-suk’s historical fashion drama <The Royal Tailor> (2014) and LEE Byoung-heon’s coming-of-age comedy <Twenty> (2014). She had her first leading role in 2015, with the fantasy historical <The Scholar Who Walks the Night>. She is the sister of LEE Da-in, who is also an actress.
