Born in 1985, KIM Seung-hee successfully completed an animation production curriculum at the Hankyoreh Cultural Center in 2009 and realized in 2014 her first short animation <Mirror In Mind>, which won the Excellence Award at the Busan International Short Film Festival. Her follow-up project was <The Realm of Deepest Knowing> (2017), which was presented at the Korea Independent Animation Film Festival where it earned the Independent Walk Award. She was also in charge of the animation sequences featured in the documentary film <For Vagina’s Sake> (2018). In 2018, she was sponsored by the Samsung Foundation of Culture for an invitation to the Cité artist residency in Paris. There, she produced the short animation film <Tiger and Ox> (2019). The film went on to win the Jury’s Grand Prize in the Korean short competition of the PyeongChang International Peace Film Festival, on top of a Special Mention of the Jury at the Seoul International Women’s Film Festival and the NETPAC Award at the Busan International Short Film Festival.Less
