Seoul citizen SEO Yea-ji was born in 1990 and began her career as performer with a part in an SK Telecom TV commercial in 2013. Later that year she joined the cast as a supporting member of the tvN TV sitcom <Potato Star 2013QR3>. That same year she also appeared in the Samsung-sponsored short film <Love>. The next year she jumped up to leading status in the period TV drama <Diary of a Night Watchmen>.
Her breakout year proved to be 2015, when she once again appeared on television, this time starring in two shows, including the family drama <Super Daddy Yul> and the thriller <Last>, but also stretched out into the theatrical realm. She first did this by demonstrating her talent in independent films, which included a supporting part in the revenge drama <Circle of Atonement>, alongside SUNG Dong-il, and then as one of the co-leads in the languid indie drama <Another Way>. Both films emerged as part of the lineup of the Busan International Film Festival. She also turned her eye to the commercial realm that year, appearing in LEE Joon-ik’s smash hit period drama <The Throne>, as part of the film’s star-studded supporting cast. 2016 saw her feature in another major period drama, this time the Joseon Era summer comedy <Seondal: The Man Who Sells the River>, in addition to heading back to the small screen for the youth drama <Moorim>.
