She drew attention right away with her professional debut with her performance in the hit TV series <Bad Guys> in 2010. Already on her way to stardom, she was offered the female lead role in the romcom series <Playful Kiss>, which was first broadcast later that year. Following a short break in 2011 to focus on her studies, she was cast in another pair of TV shows in 2012, the sitcom <Standby> and the cable TV series <Can We Get Married?>. Switching agencies in 2013 to join S.M. Culture & Contents, Jeong began to diversify her TV portfolio, appearing in major shows such as the thriller <Big Man> and the disaster drama <D-Day>. Her first feature film role came when she was cast as a lead in the indie fantasy drama <Alice: Boy from Wonderland>, which had its world premiere at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival in 2014. This was followed by the youth comedy <Twenty> in which she played superstar Kim Woobin’s girlfriend. The film opened in early 2015 to significant success. She reached a wider audience when she starred in <The Sound of Your Heart> (2016), the web series adaptation of a popular webtoon that was a hit both on Korean and Chinese streaming platforms. She then took on a new challenge with the body-swap comedy <Daddy You, Daughter Me> (2016), in which she had to do her best impression of character actor Yoon Jemoon. After further lead roles in TV series <My Father is Strange> (2017), <Because This is My First Life> (2017) and <This Smile Has Left Your Eyes> (2018), she achieved one of her long-held dreams when she was offered to host her own radio show by SBS network.
