PARK Young-ju, born in 1985, was majoring in creative writing when she began writing screenplays. Since no filmmaker took interest in her scripts, she resolved to film her scripts and so made her directing debut with <A Delivery Girl> (2014). After many years of trying to break out despite her timid nature and many unsuccessful participation to screenplay contests (90 participations!), she found inspiration while reading a story by PYUN Hye-young and turned it into a short movie, <1 Kilogram> (2016), which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival in the Cinéfondation section. After completing her degree in film directing at the Korea National University of Arts, she made her first feature film, <Second Life> (2018), with the help of the production support for first feature from her former school. The film was invited to the New Currents selection of the Busan International Film Festival.
