YANG Kyung-mo has always loved cinema but it is only relatively recently, while he was studying at a medical school, that he considered making his own movies. In 2003, while he was about to graduate, he spent all his money on a 6mm camcorder and started filming whatever he found interesting. As he was having doubts about his future career as a doctor and couldn’t shake the feeling that this would leave him with regrets, he took the decision to apply to a movie school. He was eventually accepted to the Faculty of Film of the Korea National University of Arts and graduated in 2010. In the meantime, he managed to make many short movies thanks to the money earned through various part-time jobs in medicine. He received in 2015 the Special Jury Prize at the Mise-en-scene Short Film Festival for his film <Sunrise>, and made his commercial debut in 2016 with heist movie <ONE-LINE>.
