He subsequently attended the Korean Academy of Film Arts, where he majored in Directing. His short films include The Cursed (2010) and The Wish (2012), the latter of which earned awards at the Asian and Mise-en-scene Short Film Festivals. He debuted as a feature director in 2013 with the surprise summer hit Hide and Seek. With unknown actors, and going up against the likes of Snowpiercer (2013) at the box office, the thriller scored with audiences and thrust HUH into the spotlight. Three years after winning the Best New Director award at the Korean Association of Film Critics Awards, HUH returned with his sophomore film <Mimic>, featuring YUM Jung-ah as the lead in a rural-set suspense title about a mysterious creature.
