She also attended the prestigious Seoul National University, majoring in Korean traditional music. As a screen performer, she debuted on the small screen in TV series in 2009, appearing in programs such as <Partner> (2009) and <Pasta> (2010). Her silver screen break came in 2011, when she starred in the action-thriller <HIt> (2011). Her next role was as part of the main cast of the smash hit 2012 disaster thriller <Deranged> (2012). That same summer, she also appeared in the Joseon dynasty-set period comedy <I Am a King>. After appearing in E J-yong’s ensemble mockumentary <Behind the Camera> (2012), which screened at the Busan International Film Festival and the Berlinale, among others, LEE was back in commercial fare with the highly anticipated sequel <Tazza: The Hidden Card> in 2014.
