Born in 1984, LEE Woo-jung majored in Theater and Film from Hanyang University. She debuted as an actor, starring in the short <You Do Not Leave Me> (2006), but also served as script supervisor on YOON Seong-ho’s <Milky Way Liberation Front> (2007). She later appeared in some of YOON’s following projects, like <Dr. Jump> (2010) and his web series <Prominent Woman> (2014). She started making her own films in 2008 with the short <Hanna Song>, and in 2011, she received the Sonje Award (for best Korean short) at the Busan International Film Festival with her film <See You Tomorrow> (2011). She continued to be active both before and behind the camera, notably contributing a segment to the film anthology <Romance In Seoul> (2013) and starring in film anthology <A Midday Picnic> (2018), and in 2020 she presented at the Busan International Film Festival her debut feature, <SNOWBALL> (2020), based on the novel <The Best Life>. It received there the KTH Award (for best film in the New Currents section) and later picked up the New Choice Award at the Seoul Independent Film Festival
