In 2011, he played a role in the family drama series <Ojakgyo Family> as a rough cop and made his big screen debut in <Don’t Click> (2011) and <S.I.U.> (2011). He next appeared as the lead in the superhero period drama series <Bridal Mask> (2012) and as a co-lead in the romcom film <Steal My Heart> (2013) alongside Kim Ajoong. After topbilling the medical drama series <Good Doctor> (2013), Joo returned to the romcom genre for his next project, 2014’s <Fashion King>. He then switched up to the thriller genre for his next, the mid-sized and gritty revenge title <FATAL INTUITION> (2015) with Yoo Haejin which was a minor hit in late 2015. He then starred in another medical drama series, <Yong-pal> (2015), this time as a doctor providing treatment to gangsters who prefer to keep a low profile. In 2022, he was back in the limelight as the titular character in the Netflix original film <Carter> (2022). He is expected to be back on the silver screen with Kwak Kyungtaek’s upcoming title <FIREFIGHTERS> (2020), currently in post-production.
