LEE Sang-geun majored in film from the Korea National University of Arts and has been making short movies as early as 1999. In 2006, he won Best Film in The King of Comedy from the Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival with <Do You Wanna ‘Baby’?> (2006), and received the Grand Prix of the Daegu Short Film Festival for <Mr. Self-portrait> (2007). Having served as production assistant on the set of RYOO Seung-wan’s <Dachimawa Lee> (2007), he developed a strong connection with RYOO and producer KANG Hae-jung’s production company Filmmaker R&K, and it would eventually be with them that he would make his debut feature. The film, <EXIT> (2019), defied expectations by becoming the greatest Korean success of the summer 2019 season with more than 9 million admissions.
