In 2006, he won Best Film in The King of Comedy from the Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival with <Do You Wanna ‘Baby’?> (2006), and received the Grand Prix of the Daegu Short Film Festival for <Mr. Self-portrait> (2007). Having served as production assistant on the set of RYOO Seung-wan’s <Dachimawa Lee> (2007), he developed a strong connection with RYOO and producer KANG Hae-jung’s production company Filmmaker R&K, and it would eventually be with them that he would make his debut feature.
