Born in 1990, KANG Ha-neul debuted as a stage musical actor, where he quickly made his name. He refused more than a few offers from big entertainment agencies that stipulated the condition that he should stop his stage career. After a first screen appearance in the TV series <Supermom> in 2007, he starred in several other series until his performance in sensation hit series <Misaeng: Incomplete Life> (2014) earned him the recognition of the public. The year 2014 was particularly busy for the young actor as he was offered his first leading role in the comic horror film <Mourning Grave> and joined the main cast of the period music biopic <C’est si bon> (2014) and the coming-of-age youth dramedy <Twenty> (2014), the latter of which earned him Best New Actor from the Chunsa Film Festival. In 2015, he appeared in the erotic period thriller <Empire of Lust> (2015) and the romcom <Like for Likes> (2015), before delivering a standout performance as the poet YUN Dong-Ju in LEE Joon-ik’s biopic <DONGJU; The Portrait of A Poet> (2015). Next for KANG was the leading role of a man wrongly convicted in courtroom drama <New Trial> (2016). KANG then proved his bankability when he headlined with PARK Seo-jun crime action comedy <Midnight Runners> (2017), a sleeper hit that welcomed more than 5 million spectators. He was most recently seen in the thriller <Forgotten> and the indie <I Have a Date with Spring> (2017).
