Born in 1970, AHN Soo-hyun got her producer training on the production of acclaimed films such as <The Uninvited>, <You Are My Sunshine> and <Voice of a Murderer>. Due to her friendly and accessible demeanor, she quickly proved her skills in production management by working on mainstream film projects with many directors with strong personalities and celebrities. She started her filmmaking career as part of the marketing staff of ShinCine Communications before moving to New York where she worked as a production coordinator of John H. LEEs feature debut <The Cut Runs Deep>. She then produced <One Fine Spring Day> by HUR Jin-ho at Sidus before joining OH Jung-wan and LEE Eugene at Bom Film Productions. After leaving the company, she joined hands with PARK Chan-wook to executive produce the 2009 Cannes Jury Prize winning film <Thirst> and LEE Hyun-seung’s <Hindsight>. She then founded Caper Film with her husband director CHOI Dong-hoon and produced <The Thieves>, which featured a top-notch ensemble cast. Released nationwide in July 2012, the film ranks 6th in the all-time Korean box office, after drawing close to 13 million viewers. She reproduced three years later this feat with CHOI’s following film <Assassination>, which also earned her Best Film from the Korean Film Producers Association.
