Seoul Art College graduate YOO Ho-jeong, who was born in 1969, got her start as a performer in 1991, becoming a prolific star of TV dramas throughout the decade. Later on, in 1998, she had her first role in a film, as a cameo in the romantic drama <First Kiss>. Two years later she also cameoed in the 2000 drama <Promenade>. Her first substantial film part came in IM Kwon-taek’s Cannes-invited period era painter biopic <Chihwaseon>, with CHOI Min-shik. After many more credits on television, next came a part in PARK Chan-wook’s Berlinale contender <I’m a Cyborg But That’s OK> (2006). Some of her big TV roles have included playing a divorcee whose husband lives next door in daily drama <Definitely Neighbors> (2010). She also appeared in spring 2011 in the ambitious and infections youth comedy-drama <Sunny>, playing the adult version of the main character, who tried to recapture her youthful spirit when she meets an old friend. Expanding her repertoire, YOO turned her attention to variety television, becoming the host of her first show, the healthy food and lifestyle program Olive Show on cable channel O'live TV. Over the years, YOO has picked up numerous accolades, especially for her work on TV, such as Best Actress in 2002 from the Grimae Awards for <Man of the Sun, Lee Je-ma>.
