Shin brought new films genres and filmmaking techniques to the Korean film industry in the mid-1990s when the role of a producer was not as widely known. The Marriage Life and Mister Mama reflected the changing notion of love and marriage for the young generation, while The Fox with Nine Tails was the first film in Korean cinematic history to use computer graphics. [KANG Je-kyu]s directing debut, The Gingko Bed, was the first blockbuster fantasy film in Korea.
