Born in 1988, Suwon University graduate LEE Min-ji began appearing in short films starting in 2009 and following several short credits appeared in the Korean Academy of Film Arts feature title <End of Animal> in 2010. Her role earned her a special mention from the Dubai International Film Festival. More shorts followed, such as <See You Tomorrow>, which was invited to the Busan as well as the Berlin International Film Festival. That role eared her the Independent Star Award from the 37th Seoul Independent Film Festival and the Best Actress prize from the Busan International Short Film Festival. She was also the lead in the short <Safe>, which earned the Palme d’or for Best Short Film at the Cannes Film Festival. She also featured in the voice cast of YEON Sang-ho’s dark animated title <The Fake>, which debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival. Her next feature credit was in indie darling LEE Don-ku’s sophomore film <Entangled>, which also screened at the Busan International Film Festival. The commercial film industry came knocking in 2015, during which she appeared in the Cannes-invited female gangster thriller <Coin Locker Girl>, the rural period fairy tale update <The Piper> and the modern spin on HONG Gil-dong <Phantom Detective>. She has also found success on the small screen, appearing in the main cast of the hit shows <Seonam Girls High School Investigators> in 2014 and the show <Reply 1988> in 2015.
