Born in Seoul in 1990, Korea National University of Arts graduate Lim Jiyeon began her performing career through a series of short films and theater productions. Her stage appearances included <Haemoo> in 2011, which went on to be adapted into the Bong Joonho produced sea-set thriller of the same name in 2014. Lim shot to fame when she was cast as one of the leads in Kim Daewoo’s steamy romantic drama <Obsessed>, which made her equally well-known and notorious. Playing alongside Song Seungheon, she played a young officer’s wife who engages in an affair with a married man on a military base. The role earned her Best New Actress prizes from the Grand Bell Film Awards and the Korean Association of Film Critics Awards. Maintaining her image as a performer willing to go the extra mile, she appeared next in Min Kyudong’s erotic Joseon Era drama thriller <The Treacherous> as an ambitious concubine. Beside other roles in television, including in popular show <High Society>, which netted her Best New Actress accolades from the APAN Star Awards and SBS Drama Awards, next up for Lim was the Showbox comedy-thriller <LUCK-KEY>, alongside Lee Joon and Yoo Haejin. Next for her was the gambling drama <Tazza: One Eyed Jack> (2019), and in 2020 she joined the main cast of the fantasy thriller <Spiritwalker> (2020).
