KANG Ye-won debuted in the SBS drama <Honey Honey> in 2001 but did not immediately make an impression. However, in 2009, she sharply raised her profile by portraying a heartbreaking love story with LEE Min-ki in the movie <Haeundae>, a blockbuster that recorded over 10 million viewers. Since then, she has participated in more hits such as <Harmony>, the most touching movie of 2010, as well as in <Hello Ghost> in late 2010. In just two years from 2009 to 2010, KANG Ye-won presented herself to 17 million viewers and became a bona fide box-office sensation. In 2011, she appeared in the movie <Quick> with KIM In-kwon, once again co-starring with LEE Min-ki. KANG stuck with comedy for her next role in the horror-comedy <Ghost Sweepers> in 2012 before switching gears to star in the independent drama <El Condor Pasa>, a gala premiere from 2012’s Busan International Film Festival. Following some delays, KANG next appeared in the period action-comedy <The Huntresses> alongside HA Ji-won. Later in 2014, KANG headlined the romantic thriller <My Ordinary Love Story>, which served as the closing film of the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival. She earned strong notices for her role as an unlucky in love woman who finds the perfect man (a meek yet kind SONG Sae-byeok), only to discover the terrible secret he has been hiding.
