He was a cameraman for [MIN Kyu-dong]’s short film, <Seventeen>(1997), and worked on the directing team of [JANG Sun-woo] on <Lies>(1999). JOH’s debut was with <No Manners>(2002), starring [RYOO Seung-bum] and [KONG Hyo-jin], which depicted the whirlwind an turbulence of school life in a light-hearted manner. The movie received good reviews for the direction and mis en scène that conveyed the sensitivity of the 1980s perfectly. JOH is known for his direction that captures nostalgia for old days and his warm approach, which were displayed well in his melodrama, <Once in a Summer>(2006), that starred [LEE Byung-hun] and [Su Ae].
