He gained the experience in directing while he served at American Office of Communication, Film Department. He joined Shin Film in 1958, receiving training as writer director and production, making his debut in 1961 with Under the Seoul Roof. He continued working on films for the next 25 years, directing about 80 films. He passed away in April 2010.
