Born in 1963, LEE Seung-moo, sometimes stylized as Sngmoo LEE, first majored in Russian language and literature before continuing with a master’s degree in theater and film at Dongguk University. He then went on to earn a postgraduate degree in Cinema Studies at the New York University. It was during that period that he found the inspiration for what would become <Warrior’s Way> (2010). After a stint as a film and new media journalist, he moved back to Korea in the mid-1990s and started teaching film at the Korea National University of Korea in 1995. He later contributed to the adapted script for <The Legend Of The Evil Lake> (2003) and penned the original screenplay for <Sund@y Seoul> (2004). After finding a producer and investment for his long-gestated project, <Warrior’s Way> entered production in 2007 as New Zealand-Korea co-produced fantasy action film and was eventually released in 2010. After serving in the cultural and artistic advisory committee of the 2012 Yeosu Expo, LEE worked as a coordinator between schools and private producers and distributors and notably participated in such capacities to the indie favorite <The World of Us> (2016). He most recently executively produced <TEN MONTHS> (2020) and <DUST-MAN> (2020).
