In high school he was spotted by 1980s singer LEE Sun-hee and quickly established himself as a singer. In 2005, he stretched out into the acting world by appearing in his first TV show. He went on to appear in a number of shows, which highlighted his cerebral characters, a role type he eventually broke from when he appeared on a comedy variety show in 2007. Full-blown stardom came when he appeared in the drama <Brilliant Legacy> in 2009, following which he starred in many hit dramas, including <The Greatest Love> (2011) and <The King 2hearts> (2012), and received numerous accolades from industry awards.
