LEE Seok-keun initially didn’t have any particular interest in films. When LEE went to UK to study English, he became friends with WOO Min-ho, who would later be known for <Inside Men> (2015) and <The Man Standing Next> (2020). It is with WOO that he co-directed his first short movie, <Who killed Jesus?>, in 2000. After coming back to Korea, he kept finding time to churn out screenplays. 2017 was clearly a turning point in his career, as not only were two of his scripts chosen to be adapted to films for the time, which would be known as <THE OUTLAWS> (2017) and <The Bros> (2017), but he also made his own official directing debut with <On Your Wedding Day> (2018). The film, a romance told from the male lead perspective, is based on an original script he wrote in 2007 after seeing a bride crying at a wedding and became a sleeper hit upon its release. He was back in early 2020 with some adaptation work on the political comedy <HONEST CANDIDATE> (2020), a remake of the 2014 Brazilian film <O Candidato Honesto>.
