Born MOON Soi in 1985, YOON Soi debuted in 2001 as a model for a fashion magazine and was first noticed for her TV commercials. Having been majoring in sports modelling, she was offered in 2004 her first acting part as the female lead of martial arts action film <Arahan> (2004), RYOO Seung-wan. Widely acclaimed for her fight scenes and stunts, she went on to be nominated for Best New Actress at the Blue Dragon Film Awards. The same year, she starred in her first TV series, <Say You Love Me>, which spurred a series of commercials featuring YOON and her co-star. After another starring role in comedy <The Twins> (2004), she moved back to martial arts films with a main role in historical epic <Shadowless Sword> (2005), for which she spent three months learning wushu. As her career was taking off, she had no other choice but to drop out of college, but she would later enroll at Dongguk University in dramatics and graduate in 2011. Even though she featured in a number of TV series, she had to wait until the martial arts period drama <Warrior Baek Dong-soo> (2011) to get her first success on the small screen. She followed in 2013 with a supporting role as a North Korean spy in thriller TV series <Iris II: New Generation> before landing the leading role as a vengeful nun in drama series <Angel’s Revenge> (2014). She also ventured into independent productions by headlining the romantic fantasy film <Try to Remember> (2010) and the thriller <The Lost Choices> (2015), and made with Hong Kong horror film <Midnight Garage> (2015) her first foray outside of Korea. She most recently appeared in the crime drama <BROTHERS IN HEAVEN> (2017).
