YU Jun-sang made his debut in 1995 in the SBS Open Recruitment and appeared in <Grease> in 1998. Later, he appeared in numerous musicals such as <The Play>, <Two Men>, <The Claw Of An Angel> and <The Three Musketeers>. He has received numerous accolades, including for Best Supporting Actor in 2002 and 2009’s Star Award. He has also been consistently performing in dramas, becoming an actor that spectators are very comfortable with. Even after the age of forty, he is still a big presence in the musical industry. YU’s film career really took off in 2010 with his scene-stealing turn in KANG Woo-suk’s <Moss> and when collaborated for the first time with HONG Sangsoo on <HaHaHa>. He appeared in HONG’s subsequent three films <The Day He Arrives> (2011), <In Another Country> (2012) and 2013’s <Nobody’s Daughter Haewon>. At the same, he also appeared in the commercial thriller and action films such as <R2B: Return to Base> (2012), <Fists of Legend> (2013) and 2014’s <The Target>. YU continues to be very active in independent cinema, appearing in 2012’s <Touch> and JEON Kyu-hwan’s Korea-Estonia co-production <The Painter>, which was originally due to premier in 2014 at Sitges but was temporarily delayed. Also in 2014, YU appeared in LEE Kwang-kuk’s critically acclaimed indie comedy <A Matter of Interpretation>, which bowed at the Busan Film Festival. Staying within the indie realm, he next appeared in his sixth HONG Sangsoo film in 2015, alongside KIM Min-hee and JUNG Jae-young.
