Yonsei Unversity graduate SHIN Han-sol kicked off his directing career in the late 1990s with the shorts <Oyster> (1999), <In the Late Summer> (1999) and subsequently <A Goat’s Lover> (2001). His feature film debut came in 2006, with the comedy-drama <The Art of Fighting>, a modest success which featured BAEK Yoon-shick as a curmudgeonly fighting mentor for a teenage boy. SHIN followed that up two years later with the high concept, period set sex comedy <A Tale of Legendary Libido>, a vehicle for funny man BONG Tae-gyu. Following that film’s poor showing, SHIN next served as a screenwriter for the 2011 smash hit <Clash of the Families>, a Romeo and Juliet-inspired comedy featuring SONG Sae-byeok and LEE Si-young, not to mention past and future SHIN collaborators BAEK Yoon-shik and KIM Su-mi. With that successful credit under his belt, SHIN returned to the director’s chair for 2015’s <Granny’s Got Talent>, a comedy featuring veteran star KIM Su-mi as a grandmother who becomes involved in a television swearing contest following her release from jail.
