Born KIM Bong-hoe in 1984, YEON Woo-jin initially wanted to be an architect but couldn’t get good enough grades in high school for that, as he was more interested in the activities of the school’s film club. He grow more interested in trying acting, and so decided to get the 2-year long mandatory military service out of the way by enlisting as early as possible. Thereafter, his tall stature allowed him to receive a gig as a model at the 2007 Seoul Fashion Week. After walking several runways, he finally debuted his acting career when he was chosen, out of hundred hopefuls, to star in Director KIMJHO Gwang-soo’s gay romance film <Just Friends?> (2009), in which he was credited under the stage name SEO Ji-hoo. His stage name would be changed to YEON Woo-jin just a few months later, after he joined his first talent management agency. After a first role in the TV drama series <Cinderella’s Stepsister> (2010), he has been mainly active in the smaller screen, gaining more recognition through parts in <All My Love for You> (2010-2011) and <Ojakgyo Family> (2011-2012). After appearing as AHN Sung-ki’s son-in-law in IM Kwon-taek’s 102th and latest fim <Revivre> in 2014, YEON was cast as the male lead in the romcom series <Marriage, Not Dating> (2014), soon followed by further romcoms like <Divorce Lawyer in Love> (2015) and <Introverted Boss> (2017). Following two period comedy films, <The Princess and the Matchmaker> (2015) and <Seondal: The Man who Sells the River> (2016), YEON could be seen in KIM Jong-kwan’s high-concept indie drama <The Table> (2016), playing against LIM Soo-jung.
