Kwon Yul said, “I will do my best to close the festival successfully.”

The 27th Busan International Film Festival, which will be held from October 5 (Wed) around Busan Cinema Center, has announced actors Kwon Yul and Han Sunhwa as hosts for its closing ceremony, which will take place on October 14 (Fri).

Actor Kwon Yul, who will meet the audience as one of the closing ceremony hosts, visited the 19th and the 24th Busan International Film Festival with the films The Admiral: Roaring Currents (2014) and Champion (2018), respectively. In 2019, Kwon also communicated with the audience through the mentor of Cinema Together, the representative program of the festival for the audience. The actor said, “It’s an honor for me to enjoy the finale of the festival with the audience as a host of the closing ceremony of BIFF. As the festival is the largest cinematic ceremony in Asia, I will do my best to close the festival successfully.”

Actor Han Sunhwa will heighten the audience’s anticipation with her first visit to the Busan International Film Festival this year. Han Sunhwa started her acting career in 2013 and has exhibited delicate and emotional portrayals in the films such as When Winter Comes (2020), Cinema Street (2021), A Letter from Kyoto (2022), etc. She shared her excitement by saying, “Thank you for inviting me as the host for the closing ceremony on my first visit to the Busan International Film Festival. I will do my best for the grand finale of the 27th Busan International Film Festival with cineastes and audiences.”

On Oct. 14, the closing ceremony will hold the red-carpet ceremony, the award ceremonies for the Actor & Actress of the Year Award and New Currents Award, and the screening of the closing film, A Man (2022) by director Ishikawa Kei.

The 27th Busan International Film Festival, which declared going back to normal in 3 years, will be held for 10 days from the opening ceremony on Oct 5 (Wed) to Oct 14 (Fri) at Busan Cinema Center.
