A Total of 522 Seats in TIFF Bell Lightbox Were Sold Out, Well Received by North American Audiences
The film Hunt received hot responses shortly after the screening of the Gala Presentation at the 47th Toronto International Film Festival. Hunt, which has been invited to overseas film festivals since the Midnight Screenings at the Festival de Cannes, is a spy action film in which Park Pyongho (played by Lee Jungjae) and Kim Jungdo (played by Jung Woosung), the special agents of K-CIA, who suspect each other to find a mole in the organization, face a huge conspiracy called ‘Korea's No. 1 Assassination Operation.’ Immediately after the screening of the Gala Presentation at the Toronto International Film Festival, the film is enjoying favorable reviews from foreign media.
North American media reported, “Such an intensive spy movie! It’s merciless and explosive!“ (Rama's Screen), "An action film full of thrills from the beginning to the end!" (Candid Cinema), "Stylish and fantastic action movie!" (Exclaim! CA), "The Toronto International Film Festival 2022 Starts with a Great Work!" (CG Magazine), "Without a moment to breathe, a massive action scene moves on to the next action scene in a thrilling way! The film makes the complicated story totally make sense!" (Next Best Picture), etc.
Also, the official GV event ‘In Conversation With...,’ attended by Director Lee Jungjae and Actor Jung Woosung, was held from 3 p.m. on September 16th local time. All 522 seats in the TIFF Bell Lightbox were sold out, showing the keen attention of the North American audiences. ‘In Conversation With...’ is an event where the guests’ images from their past works are produced and presented in clips and talk with the audience on various topics. On the event day, Director Lee Jungjae and Actor Jung Woosung met with North American audiences in person and introduced the story of the film.
Considering that the Toronto International Film Festival is the first debut stage in the North American market, expectations are also high for Hunt's North American release. The film is set to release in North America in December.
