CJ ENM Opens a Branded Channel at Peacock, a Global OTT

CJ ENM opened its branded channel ‘CJ ENM Picks’ through Peacock, NBCUniversal’s OTT platform. Through the branded channel, CJ ENM will provide Korean films, dramas, music shows, variety shows, etc. Peacock is an online streaming service that is popular in North America and Europe, having 28 million monthly active users (MAU) during the first quarter of the year. Peacock subscribers can enjoy CJ ENM Picks with the Premium Membership for $4.99 per month.
In August, 15 works are provided, including films such as The Accidental Detective 2: In Action, Finding Mr. Destiny, and The Map Against the World, dramas such as Squad 38, I Need Romance 2012, and variety shows such as Youn’s Kitchen 2, Kingdom: Legendary War, M Countdown, etc. In September, another 15 works will be added up newly, including films such as Tough as Iron, Glove, and Time Renegades, dramas such as Cheese in the Trap and Reply 1994, and variety shows such as Love Catcher 2, etc.
The partnership will target North American audiences, and CJ ENM will expand its channels to supply its content to various parts of the world. Last December, CJ ENM started providing its content on Paramount’s Pluto TV streaming service in a separate category named ‘K-Content by CJ ENM.’ Since then, it has organized an average of 6 to 8 new titles every month, including Korean movies, dramas, music shows, etc.
Seo Jangho, head of the content business unit at CJ ENM, said, “We can now present CJ ENM content through major North American platforms such as Pluto TV and Peacock. We plan to keep on not only creating content for the global market but also paving new global distribution networks.”
