KIM Go-eun and PARK Jung-min Star in Modern-Day Drama
Production on Byeonsan (translated title), the latest film from hit director LEE Joon-ik, began on September 11th in Seoul’s Hongik University (Hongdae) area. The modern day drama stars KIM Go-eun and PARK Jung-min.
PARK stars as a failed rapper who returns to his hometown following a call from home. There he meets a former elementary school classmate, played by KIM.
After featuring in several prominent indie films, PARK made the jump to mainstream recognition when he starred in LEE’s DONGJU: The Portrait of A Poet (2016), which earned him several Best New Actor awards in Korea. Star of Eungyo (2012) and Coin Locker Girl (2015), KIM was most recently seen in last year’s Canola.
Director LEE is known for his hit period films, such as King And The Clown (2005) and The Throne (2015). Byeonsan will be released at some point next year by Megabox Plus M, the local distributor which also handled director’s LEE previous two films DONGJU: The Portrait of A Poet and Anarchist from Colony.
