JIMFF OST Award Goes to Composers of THE MERCILESS

During its 13th edition, the Jecheon International Music & Film Festival handed out two new awards: the JIMFF OST award and the JIMFF STAR award. The JIMFF OST Award was taken by KIM Hong-jip and LEE Jin-hee, the composers of The Merciless, while the JIMFF STAR Award went to K-pop idols turned actors DOH Kyung-soo and AN So-hui

Active since early in the millennium, composers KIM Hong-jib and LEE Jin-hee each have two dozen credits to their name and started working together in the last few years, creating the music for films such as Broken (2014), My Dictator (2014), FATAL INTUITION (2015) and last year’s Like for Likes.

A member of boyband EXO, DOH made his feature film debut in 2014’s Cart and scored a box office hit last year as one of the leads of the comedy MY ANNOYING BROTHER. He recently starred opposite SHIN Ha-kyun in comedy-thriller Room No. 7, which served as the opening film of the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) last month.

AN, a member of the band Wonder Girls, featured in the global smash hit TRAIN TO BUSAN last summer before appearing opposite LEE Byung-hun and KONG Hyo-jin in A Single Rider earlier this year.

The new awards were decided by JIMFF’s executive committee as well as members of the Korean Film Directors Association. This year’s edition of JIMFF took place from August 10th to 15th.
