Kicks off November 20 in Brooklyn Academy of Music
For its 12th edition, and its third in the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s BAMcinématek, the New York Korean Film Festival (NYKFF) will feature an eclectic mix of current Korean releases. The festival will run for four days beginning on November 20th, screening seven features.
First up will be
ZHANG Lu’s well-regarded
Gyeongju, starring
PARK Hae-il and
SHIN Min-a. The languid drama of a professor’s return to Korea screened in completion at the Locarno International Film Festival this summer.
The festival will be co-presented by The Korea Society and Subway Cinema (also responsible for the New York Asian Film Festival). Online streaming service DramaFever will also be supporting the event by hosting additional screenings online, including The Fatal Encounter and LEE Myung-se’s mystery film M (2007).
