11 Korean Films Screening at 16th FEFF
On the 25th of this month, the popular Udine Far East Film Festival will kick off in springtime Northern Italy for its 16th edition. This week, FEFF revealed its packed new lineup of Far East Asian gems, including 11 Korean features.
The main portion of the program will feature eight new Korean films, three of which will be international festival premieres. The early 2014 hit Miss Granny, the family comedy from HWANG Dong-hyuk, will screen along with the middle-aged woman’s dramedy Venus Talk and the brand new revenge thriller Broken, starring JUNG Jae-young.
Also screening will be a pair of recent SONG Kang-ho hits, Han Jae-rim’s period drama The Face Reader and YANG Woo-suk’s courtroom film The Attorney. The hit summer thrillers Cold Eyes and The Terror, LIVE, will play as well, along with the romantic film Very Ordinary Couple.
Outside of the main focus of the program, three Korean films will screen in FEFF’s special programs this year. The music film Hello?! Orchestra will screen in the documentary section while two restored classics will screen in 2K: KIM Soo-yong’s Flame in the Valley (1967) and BAE Chang-ho’s People of the Slums (1982).
Known as the ‘Film Festival of Popular Asian Cinema,’ this year’s edition of FEFF will run from April 25th to May 3rd.
