SLEEPLESS NIGHT and YOUR TIME IS UP Will Compete for Top Prize
The 27th Fribourg International Film Festival announced its program on Thursday, which included a staggering 10 Korean films. The festival, which takes place over March 16-23, will feature 103 feature films and 46 short films from around the world.
Also invited is
IM Sang-soo, who will present his film
The Housemaid (2010) alongside the original work by
KIM Ki-young from 1960. His latest film
The Taste of Money will also screen. The midnight section will feature both the enormously successful caper film
The Thieves from
CHOI Dong-hoon and the controversial historical torture exposé
National Security by
CHUNG Ji-young. The table tennis drama
As One will feature in a special program dedicated to sports films while Ounie LECOMTE’s
A Brand New Life (2009) will be part of the Youth on the Edge section. Additionally, the UK/Belgium/North Korea comedy
Comrade Kim Goes Flying will screen out of competition.
Korean films to suite every taste will take over the picturesque Swiss medieval town when the festival gets underway next month.
