At the 31st Fantasporto International Film Festival, held in Porto, Portugal, on March 5, there were many prize-winning Korean films. In the Official Competition for Fantasy Films, SEO Young-hee won the Best Actress Award for her role in <Bedevilled>, and director KIM Jee-woon received the Director's Award for <I Saw The Devil>. In the Official Competition Orient Express section, <I Saw The Devil> also won the award for Best Picture, grabbing two trophies at the festival. Director PARK Soo-Young also received a special award in the section of Official Competition Orient Express for <Enemy at the Dead End>.
Director IM Sang-soo's <Housemaid> won the awards for Best Picture, Best Actress (JEON Do-youn), and Best Actor (LEE Jung-jae) in the Directors' Week Official Section.
Fantasporto Film Festival, one of Europe's top fantasy film festivals, has much interest in Asia's Fantastic film festival and has encouraged the development of a highly unique genre of movies such as that of <Old Boy> and <A Tale of Two Sisters>.
