Youngjin, a public service worker, seems a bit quirky. The social welfare worker, Jinhyun, who is responsible for Youngjin, appears sarcastic at first glance but actually has a warm heart. When Jinhyun finds out that Youngjin has been kicked out of his home, he allows Youngjin to stay at his own house. Meanwhile, an elderly woman named Sunrye, who frequents the welfare center, often confides in Jinhyun. Heritage doesn′t provide a rich narrative for these characters′ relationships. Instead, it repeats and reiterates a few key elements, creating a strange and enchanting atmosphere that envelops the entire film. This is the natural magic of the movie: Specific situations, places, actions, dialogue (or silence) are repeated in an exquisite manner, creating captivating images and scenes. Heritage is a fascinating minimalism. The film is an enigmatic blend of emotions and remnants that cannot be categorized, exuding an unexplainable charm. It′s also a sophisticated masterpiece that seeks to defy categorization and embrace the inexplicable. (Busan International Film Festival)
