Song, an old man who lives a lonely life in a dugout firing potteries, happens to save the life of a young woman named Ok-su. The two marries, and gives birth to a son, Dang-son. They lead a happy life until Seok-hyeon, who has been seeking for Ok-su, gets to help out her husband's works. Ok-su tries to remain distance. But she gives in, running away with Seok-hyeon in the middle of the night. Discouraged, Song commits suicide. Time passes. Ok-su, who's now shabby as a beggar...
