Gun-tae is a young daydreamer who works at an illegal gunnery and idolizes Cho Yun Fat. He becomes good friends with a neighborhood granny, a.k.a "Machine-gun Granny," who gives him some snails as a gift. When Gun-tae helps a decrepit old man on the street, the man gives him a mysterious jar in return. Gun-tae puts the snails in the jar, and from that night on, a snail-horned brownie secretly comes out of the jar and does the household chores for him like in the old Korean fairy tale. He eventually finds out from the beautiful girl that the jar can change snails into humans, and so he takes snails out of Granny's pond and puts them in the jar. Meanwhile, Granny seeks to take back her wedding ring from Yong-baik, who killed her husband and snatched the ring from her, back when she was a newlywed. But Yong-baik is one of the county's biggest gangsters and he aims to kill Granny and take over the snail shop and th mysterious jar. Will Gun-tae be able to pull out his gun as his hero might do to rescue Granny and the snail-humans from the evil force of Yong-baik?
