The corpse of an old man ; YANG Dal-su, is found floating down the Han River, and Detective OH, investigating the murder, comes across several clues: metal-framed glasses specially manufactured in Japan, the word ‘Daeryang’ printed on a piece of a name card, two photographs, decisive proof, found in Yang Dal-su's cell. Oh goes to Ok-Cheon Elementary School where Yang's pictures were taken. He finds a diary written a very long time ago by SHON Ji-Hye, and discovers the unbelievable secret of Koje P.O.W. camp. Yang, whose job was to arrest prisoners attempting to escape during the Korean War, fell in love with and helped Shon escape, disappearing with her. Hwang Seok, who has been in love with Shon for fifty years, has just been released from the camp after serving his term for refusing to convert from communism. Coincidentally, his release was just one day before Yang was murdered. Then Kim Joongyeop, another security guard at the camp, is also found murdered. The owner of the glasses turns out to be HAN Dong-Joo, who was reportedly shot to death trying to escape from the Camp. But, he is alive and passing himself off as a Japanese businessman, Maeda Shintaro. When he is found to be in Korea at the same time that Yang was murdered, he becomes the prime suspect in the case.
