Kim Seung-il and Kim Hyun-hee board a Korean Airlines(KE) flight 858 headed for Seoul from Baghdad. They are North Korean terrorists carrying Japanese passports who take charge of a bomb when they arrive in Beograd. They place the explosives that are hidden in a blue shopping bag and place it on a shelf on the plane before they get off at a stopover in Abu Dhabi. When they are stopped by officials because of their visas, they change destinations and head for Bahrain. Meanwhile, KE 858 explodes into a million pieces over the Andaman seas and the Korean officials find the names Shin Ichi(Kim Seung-il) and Ma Yumi(Kim Hyun-hee) on the passenger list. While trying to go to Rome, when these two are discovered through their fake passports, they take out their suicide pills and bite down. Shin Ichi dies on the spot but Ma Yumi is revived through emergency medical care. She is placed in the care of the Korean investigation team. During her trial, Ma Yumi witnesses the despair of the families of the passengers of KE 858 and realizes the breadth and scope of what she has done.
