In the 1930s, under Japanese occupation, Doo-han, working at a Jongno theatre, wins a fight against a Japanese student and rises as a hero. In comparison to his earlier films, this is a rare action film from Im Kwon-taek’s latter filmography that shows a soft rhythm like a ballad, beautiful, yet still evokes pathos.
